What is Sapphire Blade?
Sapphire blade is the name of the special blades used in the stage of “channel openning” that has the potential of effecting directly the result of the hair transplantation. As the name suggests these sapphire blades totally made from sapphire, were obtained as the results of the studies that were realized in order to be able to provide more developed technology in the consequence of intense interest for the hair transplantation operation. The studies that were realized to have the perfection, and to provide comfort to the patients during the operation and recovery period formed a basis to innovations in the field of hair transplantation.
The blades with sapphire pin that were specially designed can be used in the hair transplantation operations realized by FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and Percutaneous in the stages of openning the channels.
The advantages of using Sapphire Blade in hair transplantation
The sapphire Blade is more advantageous comparing with the steel blades. The steel blades may lose their sharpness and this may causa tissue loss. However since the sapphire is a durable and crystal with smooth surface that does not lose sharpness, it does not cause any tissue loss or traumas. The sapphire blades are antibacterial and do not disrupt the blood circulation.
It is very important that the follicles transplanted to be anchored in order to obtain a successful and natural result. Since the channels opened by the sapphire blades do not disrupt the blood circulation and the quality of the tissue, the follicles are anchored in a better way to their new places. Since the sapphire blades permits to open channels in micro level the recovery period after the operation is seriously shortened.
Using sapphire blade for the patients with metal sensibility and metal allergy reduces the risk of the allergy and sensbility on a large scale.
The sapphire blade started to be used in 2016 has been used in FUE technique and in recently with the effect of this blade the technique has started to be called as “Sapphire FUE hair transplantation”.
The difference between Sapphire FUE and Classical FUE
The only difference between Sapphire FUE and Classical FUE is to use blades made from sapphire instead of blades made from steel material. As well as being a very valuable crystal, the sapphire is also a very useful element to make incision. Because it never looses its shapeness.
The use of sapphire blade in FUE technique started an innovative period in hair transplantation. It moved the FUE technique that has been used globally since 2004 to the next level. By allowing to open smaller channels comparing with the channels of steel blades, sapphire blades also helped to shorten the recovery period of the patient.
How is the Sapphire FUE implemented?
At first we examinate the patient who apply to our clinic for Sapphire FUE. During the examination the patient informs us about his/her medical history and his detailed hair and hair skin controls are realized. After these controls, the type of the hair loss is determined, and the front hair line, the design of the area that will be transplanted and the hair transplantation planification is realized by considering the expectation, the need of the patient.
The hair of the patient is cut until 3mm in the day of operation. The donor area is anesthetized locally and the grafts are extracted. After extracting the grafts, the area to be transplanted is anesthetized locally. After this anesthesia the channels where the hair follicles will be inserted are opened by sapphire blades. The hair follicles that are seperated from the tissue pieces are inserted into the channels.
After finishing the transplant the follicles to the donor area the patient is bandaged. The FUE hair transplantation is finished after covering the donor area with bandage.
The advantages of Sapphire FUE hair transplantation
